THE ‘COME AND SEE’ STRATEGY

“Come and see” became the foundation of discipleship.

It began with John the Baptist’s words to Andrew and John: “See, the Lamb of God.” They followed Jesus and asked, “Where do you stay?” “Come and see,” He replied. Andrew then told Peter, “We have found the Messiah, come and see.” Petra Institute extends this same invitation: come and see.

See God’s heart and commands for children.

See how to build deep relationships with children and guide them in their relationship with the Lord.

See how families can study the Word and grow together.

See how your church can become a place where generations grow together in faith.

See how you can teach others to do the same.

We call it leadership development, but at its core it is discipleship. This is what we recently did in Ethiopia: equipping the leaders of three partner organisations through our ‘Me and My House’ family course to strengthen family relationships, disciple children and adults more effectively, and contribute to sustainable community development.

The impact multiplies as trained leaders equip others.“We are keeping up with our spiritual routines and having family devotion everynight. It has been a beautiful time where we share the Bible and pray together.Just as we learned in our recent training, we also take time to share and liftup each other's specific prayer requests every day. It has been a true blessingfor our faith.”

Well-equipped local leaders also benefit Petra Institute, as they continue equipping others in their organisations and regions, multiplying the number of workers reaching their communities and inviting them to “come and see.”

We are also dreaming of a younger generation joining this “come and see” movement. We invite you to “come and see”. Our needs extend beyond structures and training.

We need:

• prayer and financial support of a growing support base.

• a fundraising strategy and someone to manage and expand it.

• we seek guidance from the Lord to direct us to areas where He desires us to work, focusing on unreached communities.

• people like you to help make this happen.
