Children's Ministry Mentorship Course

11 August - 27 October 2007

Prerequisite training:

Students who enrole for the Children’s Ministry Mentorship course, need to have done the prerequisite training such as:

  • Children's Ministry Foundations 1 & 2 courses, or
  • Dynamic Children's Ministry correspondence courses (modules 1 & 2), or
  • Proof of equivalent qualifications in children's ministry at other organisations such as CEF, etc. is needed to be considered for admission to the above-mentioned course.

Purpose of course:

The purpose of this course is to produce leaders who are not only good children’s workers themselves, but can also:

  • train others and guide them in the ministry to children
  • manage an effective and dynamic ministry.

Therefore this Children’s Ministry Mentorship course pays attention to four main themes:

  1. The Christian maturity of the leader,
  2. Advanced skills in children's ministry,
  3. Skills in training other adults for children's ministry
  4. Management skills. This is taught as a module during the last four weeks of the course.

Because the course forms an integrated unit, students will be able to integrate aspects such as strategic planning of their ministries, which will develop throughout the course, in a ministry management plan. The course is highly practical and the application of skills in the community receives a good deal of attention. Students will therefore be evaluated not only on theoretical knowledge, but also on practical skills and dedication.
